Ya Ya’s Rescue: A Stray’s Journey from the Streets to Safety

Like Nan Nan, we found Ya Ya through the "Street Cat" app, a unique platform that uses cat-saving slots equipped with food, water, and CCTV cameras to help stray cats. The system allows users to donate, and every time a donation is made, food drops down for the cats, providing much-needed sustenance for those living on the streets.
It wasn't a simple task to save Ya Ya. It actually required two tries. Our initial attempt to capture her in a cage didn't work out as expected. Ya Ya avoided the trap by being cautious and astute on the streets. Following this fruitless endeavor, she vanished from sight for a whole week. We feared the worst at that time, since it was an exceptionally cold winter and perilous for stray cats that are trying to find food and shelter. Our hearts were heavy with anxiety.
Just when we thought she might not have made it, Ya Ya emerged again, like a miracle. Knowing she was still alive was a big relief, but we also realized we needed to move fast to make sure she was secure. This time, we hired a professional cat trapper, who used safer, more sophisticated techniques to capture and free her.
The expedition to save Ya Ya took a long time and was quite tiring. We looked everywhere, around every corner, for her possible hiding place for five long hours. The winter was harsh, and as time passed, hope started to fade. We were ready to give up when our expert cat trapper noticed her, which was an amazing event.
As soon as Ya Ya was rescued, we took her to the hospital. It became evident that something was awry with her left leg as the anesthetic wore off. After more investigation, we were certain that her leg was fractured because of the strange way she was walking.
After taking the X-ray, the vets determined that Ya Ya’s injury was due to a broken bone. This could explain why she disappeared for a week—likely due to the pain and difficulty moving. The vets suggested that the injury might have occurred from being bullied by other stray cats, as conflicts for resources and territory are common among street animals. Now, with her injury identified, we could begin the treatment necessary to help her recover and, hopefully, return to a more comfortable life.
Ya Ya required an additional three weeks of hospitalization in order to give her leg time to recover correctly. The veterinarians kept a careful eye on her recuperation to make sure she got the attention she needed to get stronger. She was eventually cleared to move into our house after this prolonged stay, where she could resume her recovery in a secure setting. Her new life away from the difficulties of the streets was beginning.
We had to take additional care because of our other cats when YaYa first came to live with us. It was crucial to give her some time to acclimate to the other cats' odors and presence before introducing her to the rest of the group. We prepared a calm, distinct space for YaYa to recuperate in while progressively acclimating the other kitties to her aroma via blankets and closely watched encounters. In order to provide everyone the opportunity to get to know one another at their own speed, a thorough introduction procedure was essential.
YaYa eventually made her way into her future home with us after several weeks of recuperation and a gradual introduction to her new feline friends. With patience and care, her wounded leg—which had previously caused her much agony and difficulty—healed wonderfully. It was so sweet to watch her gradually regain her confidence, play with toys, and discover her new environment.
YaYa is now thriving and in good health, enjoying the cozy, secure home that she has always earned. She has developed a unique relationship with the other cats, and the best part has been witnessing her unwind and purr when snuggling with them.
YaYa's journey from the chilly streets to a caring home is a moving example of the strength of kindness and the resiliency of stray animals.

What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
Why do we use it?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
