How We Saved Nan Nan: From Adoptee to Treasured Family Member
Our encounter with Nan Nan started in the most peculiar way possible—through the "Street Cat" app. Through specially designated cat-saving slots scattered throughout the city, people may give to and feed stray cats using this creative software that mixes compassion and modern technology.
While browsing through the streams on the app, we spotted Nan Nan—a small, fragile stray who had found her way into one of the feeding stations. She immediately captured our hearts with her cautious yet curious demeanor. As we watched her interact with the food dispenser after someone donated, we knew we had to do something more for her.
These tiny shelters, which have food, water, and even CCTV, offer stray cats a safe haven. App users can watch live feeds and make donations to buy food for the cats. That's how we got to know Nan Nan.
The Stray Life:
Living on the streets, Nan Nan was exposed to the problems that stray cats encounter on a daily basis, such as hunger, inclement weather, and the never-ending hunt for a place to live. Her scrawny body and matted fur revealed a story of survival, but what really came through was her soul. She hung around at the food station as if it was her only place to feel safe. We decided to secure her and pet her to become part of our family.
Rescue and Recovery:
We employed a qualified cat rescuer to carefully anesthetize Nan Nan and bring her into our care after we were able to locate her using the app. In order to calm her and make sure she wouldn't be hurt during the capture procedure, the expert rescuer employed a safe anesthetic approach.

It was both a relief and an emotional moment, knowing Nan Nan was finally safe. After the anesthesia wore off, we carefully transported her to the pet clinic, where she could undergo a full body check and recover in a peaceful environment.

Now, Nan Nan is unrecognizable from the stray cat we saw on the app. She is still a bit nervous when she first came to our family.
